Please note:
These services are secure and can only be accessed by authenticated Cornell University faculty and staff members who have valid NetIDs. When you click the "Login" button, the server will look for SideCar  and check to see if you are logged in. If sidecar is not found, you will be redirected to the CUWebLogin web page.  Both methods are equally safe for you. This application is best viewed with Internet Explorer.

 Set Up New Account:
  • The new account request service will help you categorize your new account for university reporting purposes.
  • Review and approval will be done by the appropriate individual in the Division of Financial Affairs, based upon the account characteristics.
  • You will receive an email confirmation when the request is processed.
  • To create Sponsored Funds accounts:
      Use the OSP Portal (Note: Use search tool to find award record)

 Manage Accounts, Stop/Delete:

  • Request that an account be deleted if you never expect to use it again for the same business purpose. The account must be valid to be deleted. Accounts are only deleted at final year-end closing.
  • Request to have the activity on an account stopped.
  • Request to have an existing delete and/or stop removed from an account.
  • Receive an email confirmation when the request is processed.
  • Contact Sponsored Funds Accounting for information about deleting sponsored funds accounts and read the message   that you will receive when an account stop or delete is requested.

 New Account Set Up Types:

  • Current Fund Assets:
    Cash; inventory; petty cash; prepaid/deferred expense and receivables

  • Current Fund Liabilities:
    Accounts payable; agency funds (flow chart that may require additional forms to be completed); deferred revenues; deposits; and other

  • Current Fund Balances:
    CU appropriated (endowed divisions only); dean's funds; department funds; enterprise/service units (endowed divisions only); gifts (includes temporarily restricted, unrestricted, plant, gifts with reporting requirements, and endowment income); recharge center/service facility and state appropriations (contract colleges only)

  • Plant Fund Balances:
    Flow chart for determination (renovations over $50,000 require a Project Approval Request (PAR) and answering questions in flowchart)

  • Sponsored Funds:
    In order to create sponsored funds account please go to the OSP portal, at 
    https://portal.research.cornell.edu/  and log into "General Query" portal view. 

    Direct sponsored funds account changes and deletes to the SFA area  in DFA. These types of accounts do not normally require their deletion, as they will expire with the award end date that is specified when grant proposals are approved.

 Account Maintenance:

Please request account maintenance changes via email. Changes include adding or changing closing cycle information; changing the account title (Note: the account purpose cannot be changed); changing the remittance address; changing the custodian for a petty cash account.
