Discount Rate

The Discount Rate, which is the interest rate applied when discounting future cash flows, is based on the interest environment at June 30 of the previous fiscal year for long-term, high-quality bonds. This rate is determined by the Division of Financial Affairs.

  •  Fiscal year 2003 rate: 7.00%
  •  Fiscal year 2004 rate: 5.75%
  •  Fiscal year 2005 rate: 6.00%
  •  Fiscal year 2006 rate: 5.00%
  •  Fiscal year 2007 rate: 6.00%
  •  Fiscal year 2008 rate: 6.00%
